MC Machinery Systems Inc. (http://www.mitsubishi-world.com) says its new ED6000S CNC small-hole EDM offers five-times faster positioning speed in the X, Y and Z axes than previous models.
The increased W-axis speed reduces hole-to-hole positioning time and electrode-exchange time. Hole sizes range from 0.1mm to 3.0mm. The EDM’s collet-type chucking system is for clamping smaller electrode tubes. Constant Processing Circuit technology improves the wear characteristics of the electrodes, according to the company.
A robot controls the 20- or 40-position automatic electrode changer and 10-position guide changer for tool changing during production.
