Genevieve Swiss Industries (http://www.genswiss.com)’ multidec Micro-Bore system is designed to make it easier to orient and locate small boring bars.

The multidec Micro-Bore boring bar features a positive geometry,
to speed chip extraction, and has <10μm repeatability on location.
Part of the company’s line of Utilis Swiss-type turning tools, the system includes holders that feature a positive step pin, which helps ensures that the microboring bar is consistently located. Plus, each boring insert incorporates a ground taper on its shank end that locates against a positive location pin contained within the holder.
Simple hand-tightening provides adequate force to ensure that the fine-pitch, thread-knurled nut is firmly seated against the snap ring on the boring bar. Repeatability is within 10μm.
Because no wrench is needed, there is no chance of the microboring bar breaking because of wrench slippage. Every bar and holder has through-coolant capability. The bars range from 1mm to 8mm in diameter.
